Act like a baby

Want to be resilient? Don’t act like a grown-up. Act like a baby.

Just watch a baby learning how to crawl and you’ll see more resilience in that little tike than you’ll ever see in most grown-ups.

There are so many reasons why.

They try the seemingly impossible–from being trapped on their bellies with arms and legs flailing to actually getting their knees under them, lifting their little butts in the air, and with great effort, pulling themselves forward on elbows . . .

. . . only to fall flat on their little faces over and over and over.

Do they worry about what people will say?

Do they beat themselves up for not being good enough?

Do they regret the hundreds of previous attempts they’ve made?

Are they consumed with worry about the future?

Heck no!

They are laser focused on the task at hand. And despite set-backs, obstacles, and failures, they persist. And they succeed. Go, baby, go!
