Can’t Live With ‘Em, Can’t Live Without ‘Em . . . The People In Our Lives
Since our earliest evolution, our survival and perpetuation as a species has depended on our ability to connect to others.
But like all animals, humans bite and lick. Normal relationships are a process of rupture and repair. We fight and make up.
The problem is that people aren't always easy to get along with, especially when our agenda may not fit with theirs and even more specifically, when we want to change up the routine, raise the standard, or go against the accepted norm.
This really comes into play when we need the support of others to change a behavior or crush a bad habit for which they’ve played the role of best friend cheering on the behavior or sharing our bad habit.
Think of wanting to give up burgers, fries, and milkshakes and going on a vegan diet instead. If your buddies are big-time carnivores, you may get mighty strong pushback and very little support.
But here’s the deal: You don’t have to abandon your goals and dreams, and you don’t have to lose friends.
It’s a matter of learning how to set healthy boundaries without being a jerk or feeling weird and guilty.
In this Be Your Own Best Coach workshop, you will learn a technique to help you reduce the anxiety, agony, and conflict that are part of a lot of relationships. You’ll gain the skills to:
Own your own story
Share your story in a way that clearly communicates your boundaries
Invite people to join you on your journey in a way that works for you . . . and respects their choice
We will also share the revolutionary Y-PET framework for change. Y-PET stands for You, People, Environment, and Things. It’s a framework for change that gives you a systematic and deliberate way to manage the many factors that can either put you into the winner’s circle of self-leadership or leave you at the back of the pack.
This workshop will give a good taste of who we are, what we offer, and how we work in our upcoming 5-week group coaching program.
Watch this 30-minute workshop to help you manage the relationships in your life, starting with the crucial skill of setting healthy boundaries.
